LUXURY KITCHEN DETAILS AND FINISH

Which type of finish—high gloss, medium sheen, or matte—should your kitchen cabinets have? This genuinely relies on how your home is built. In a contemporary environment, high-gloss units will look fantastic coupled with matte, mid-sheen, and mid-sheen finishes. If the home is a traditional or historic structure, stay away from high-gloss cabinets and opt for mid-sheen or matt finishes instead. If you decide on high-gloss cabinets, include natural wood into the design elsewhere—as flooring, worktops, or other features—to soften a potentially clinical atmosphere and help the room become more contemporary and family-friendly.

Use dining chair coverings or fabric sofas to provide color and texture wherever possible. Usually, it's a good idea to do some research on cabinet colors and finishes. Ask the right questions of your top kitchen designer, and see if you can bring cabinet door samples home to evaluate how they will look in your own lighting rather than in a showroom. The greatest types of kitchen worktops are just as important as selecting the appropriate cabinetry color and finish.

If you're installing a high gloss, contemporary kitchen, now is a great time to add warm texture, such as wood. If your room has period detailing, such as a marble fire surround, marble worktops, or composite lookalikes, maybe a good way to tie the scheme together. Alternatively, you may want to mix and match different worktop materials.

On a limited budget, you could have skimped on the cabinets or you might be intending to install your own kitchen if you're creating a lovely kitchen interior. In either situation, adding beautiful, high-quality kitchen countertops may quickly enhance the room. What if, for instance, you were building your own Ikea(opens in new tab) kitchen? The minor details will be handled by a qualified kitchen designer. These are just a few of the less important elements to include in your kitchen interior design: Do you need to cover a gap? Instead of being covered with a bare piece of cabinetry, couldn't it be transformed into a handy breadboard or tray nook? How far above the ceiling do the tops of your cabinets extend? They need to be either far enough away so you can reach in to clean them in order to prevent this and to maximize storage space (kitchen cabinet tops are sticky dust traps).

Where will you store your least desirable or infrequently used equipment, such as the microwave? They should preferably be put within a pantry cabinet or hidden away when not in use to avoid them from gathering dust and blocking worktops.

Is the height of everything set up properly? Fitted oven stacking is all very well and good, but if your oven is too high and you can't swiftly or safely remove hot dishes from it, you've made a costly mistake. Can young kids have similar, safe access to what they need? The placement of their cups and bowls in a low cupboard may help them develop more independence and prevent them from climbing up on worktops. On each side of the stove or immediately next to the oven, is there room to place down hot dishes? For this, you need a workspace that is at least 40 centimeters wide. Particularly on a kitchen island, are there enough and are there electrical ports exactly where you need them?

A phone, for example, wouldn't require you to unplug it in order to use it or charge it in an ideal world. In addition to having ample storage space, a well-planned kitchen should also include the right kitchen storage for your purposes. For example, deep drawers are typically more convenient for storing cookware, serving ware, and china than standard floor cabinets, which need getting down on your hands and knees to get goods towards the back of the cabinet. Likewise, pay attention to minor details.
